9 cases of rat lungworm disease confirmed in Hawaii

( CNN) The Hawaii State Department of Health has confirmed six cases of rat lungworm cancer on the island of Maui and three cases on the Big Island over the past three months, an official replied Monday. No deaths have been reported.

Rat lungworm disease, a parasite officially known as Angiostrongylus cantonensis, feigns the intelligence and the spinal rope, in agreement with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Three possible occurrences on Maui are also under investigation together with one suspected dispute on Hawaii, replied Janice Okubo, a spokeswoman for the Department of Health. The confirmed occurrences on Maui concern four both residents and two tourists, and the confirmed occurrences on Hawaii concern tenants only.
