House to vote on North Korean sanctions next week

( CNN) The House will vote on a legislation to allow new sanctions against North Korea, House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy announced Thursday.

The bill also calls for the Trump administration to determine within 90 days whether North Korea should be re-designated as a position sponsor of terrorism, something a White House official mentioned Wednesday the Trump administration is now considering.

The plotted referendum goes amid heightening frictions between North Korea and the US. As Pyongyang has increased its rhetoric and inkling at a another nuclear experiment, Trump administration officials have warned the President is willing to take military action to stop the North from securing a long-range weapon who are able to strike US soil.
