Teen dies from too much caffeine, coroner says

( CNN) Too much caffeine caused the death of a 16 -year-old high school student from South Carolina who crumbled during class last-place month, according to the district coroner.

Davis Allen Cripe died from a caffeine-induced cardiac occurrence beginning a probable arrhythmia, Richland County Coroner Gary Watts announced in a news conference Monday. During an arrhythmia, or abnormal middle tempo, the heart was not possible to shoot enough blood to the body, and scarcity of blood overflow affects the psyche, heart and other organs.

The teen destroyed three caffeine-laced drinks — a cafe latte, large Diet Mountain Dew and an exertion beverage — in a two-hour span before crumbling in his classroom at Spring Hill High School on April 26, Watts said.
