Following the presidential election that placed Donald Trump in the White House, Chappelle hosted Saturday Night Live with a politically-loaded monologue that exhorted the election results. But according to a discussion the comedian established this week at the Robin Hood gala, there’s one sentence Chappelle said back then that he realizes he’d like to take back.
Im pleasing Donald Trump luck, Chappelle had said on SNL . And Im going to give him a chance. And we the historically disenfranchised challenge that he grants us one too.
On Monday night, the comedian sang a very different tune.
“I was the first guy on Tv to allege ‘Give Trump a chance, ‘” Chappelle supposedly responded, according to tweets from attendees. “I fucked up. Sorry.”
