Tiger Woods was apprehended on skepticism of driving under the influence early Monday morning.
The famed golfer was booked at 3 a.m. neighbourhood time in Jupiter, Florida, where Woods owns a home. He was liberated around 10:50 a.m ., according to the local NBC News affiliate.
“I want the public to know that alcohol was not involved, ” Woods said in a statement, according to USA Today golf reporter Steve DiMeglio.
“What happened was an sudden reaction to prescribed remedies. I didn’t recognise the mix of remedies had affected me so strongly.”
Woods, 41, hasn’t acquired a major golf name since 2008. He had recently undergone back surgery and was focusing on rehabbing, reported CNN.
